"across the atlantic"

Rewritten /

As lots of other guitarplayers I started learning how to play the guitar with a dream in mind. A dream of the day when I was listening to the approvals from an audience after playing me tunes for them on stage. A dream that did include to become a pro-musician.

I been on stage listening to the cheers of the audience but was never near the stage where I could actually live on making music. Something that a hundred years ago led me in to become a guitar teacher at evening classes. Today I can with ease tell that Im proud to have taught more then a hundred people to enjoy their musicskills in playing the guitar.

Some of my pupils gave me a good laugh during that time. As the married couple at app 35-40 whom I asked about their homepractice. The woman replied that He takes a chair and plays the homelessons while I do the dishes! Natuarly I told Him to do the dishes instead.

A group of (think it was 10) housewifes became their own group and wondered if I could teach em, and how much will they learn?

My answer was that if they did their best they could learn a couple of tunes and maybe they could learn how to play a 2-guitar version of Stanley Meyers - Cavatina! To be frank they didnt belive me at that moment.

In the pollowing spring their guitar skills was real good and maybe with the help of some beer, whine or something similar they brought their guitars on a trip to well known street Ströget in Copenhagen. As many other street musicians they performed in the street that sunny saturday with possibly 10 different tunes. In the evening they realised that they made a profit of more then 200,oo£!

Going back to the title of this blogg, it wasnt about those ladies that I wanted to write. Rather about the record shown below and the artist behind it.

A new series of classes was about to start. There I was in front of a group of wannabee guitar players, main part of em was adults. Only a few was teenagers when a sharp lookin man arrived with his the app 11-12 year old shye daughter. She was to be one of my pupils.

Could I teach Her to play the guitar? Before class even started the man dissapered and His daughter picked up a really shitty old plywood guitar from a gigbag. They guitar as such worth anything up to a maximum of 10,oo£.

It was really project impossible to teach her anything with such a shitty guitar so She had to loan another one during that class. Class was over and by then I knew that Her father was a golf-pro. He arrived back and at this moment nothing could stop Me from telling Him a few facts in a very harse manner. A bit mad I tild Him that He could afford to buy Her daughter a proper guitar if He wanted Her to learn how to play.

At the next lesson a week later Sarah arrived and seamed very happy. From a case she picked up a brand new 200,oo£ plus Yamaha and looked very proud.

A couple of years later my role as Her guitar teacher was changed. Now I was rather Her musicmentor and we enjoy´d playing together as often as we could. A young girl and a much older man, both of em trying to inpove their music skills. I told Her to start writing Her own music and She did. Soon we was palying Her songs where I could help Her telling what I thought about Her music.

Unfortinutly We did lost contact and the next time we met. She seam not to feel to well whe She asked me to drive Her to a palce in Malmoe (Skåne - flat state of Sweden) during the trip She told me a little about Her life, that She mowed to Canada and that She had made Her first album. An album that She gave me. Unfortinutly I lost that record somewhere but a couple of the songs is somewhere in my computer. One of the Im prety sure She wrote with me in mind.

Often Ive been wondering what happened to Her, the suddenly today I was sent a link from a freind. I found Her, there She was at least on the net, and the fact that She is at Her Second World Tour with Her band, playing Her music!

A quick search at You Tube and there She was with many different songs, You can find a link below.

Im so satisfied and proud that everything went well for Her and that Her fame already seam to be written in stars. She deserve thats for sure.
