"home recording system 1962"
Year´s passes by and the old gear was stored away, instead there was a 4-channel real to real taperecorder with its mixer unit.
"TEAC 4-channel taperecorder"
Later on app 15 years ago I was introduced to recording with computerbased system. A freind of mine spent truckloads of money to build a modern homestudio. All instruments was connected and recording started and ended after only a couple of minut´s of playing. To be honest I didnt like that at all. So I went back to me taperecorders.
The reel to reel recorder was unfortinutly caused by its huge size replaced with a by then more modern 4-channel portastudio. Suddenly all was included, a taperecorder and mixer in one and the same unit. Easy to handle and with a sound quality that at least could be called fair.
"Fostex portastudio"
Age took its time, and when the portarecorder suddenly started to malefunction. The speed of the unit was going up and down like crazy. Everything recorded sounded like SHIT.
"KRISTAL soundstudio downloaded"
It was about time for this ole man to enter the computerworld. A free studiorecording program called KRISTAL was downloaded to the laptop. A great program that seamed to work, but soon I relised that it wasnt in sync. The overdubbs was kind of delay´d and that didnt sound good at all. On the other hand as this in my veiw seams to be a great program, I will try to find its faults and kinks. Maybe Ill find a way to make it work perfectly.
Computer-pro´s among me freinds told me that I was in need of a soundgadget, the Focusright Sappire 6 unit was bought at Janssons Musik in Uddevalla and the Adobe Audition was installed. Suddenly I could enter the modern recording world and my computer was transformed to an exellent studio system.
As a first test run of the system I recorded a pair of tune´s.
